The Old Hall Bookshop, Brackley

#1 The Old Hall Bookshop, Brackley, Northants

To celebrate the release of A Traitor in Paris - the second book in my John Lovat Elizabethan mystery series - I’m going to do a regular feature on all of the amazing local and independent book shops that have agreed to stock my books!

First up is the Old Hall Bookshop in Brackley, Northants - www.oldhallbooks.com/index. I grew up a mere two miles from here and it’s no exaggeration to say that this bookshop was (and still is!) an absolute jewel in an otherwise quite sleepy, provincial town. I spent many hours combing the shelves and always found books to support whatever I was doing at the time - acting, archaeology, music and so on. As well as new books, there's a superb secondhand book section as well as a range of rare and antiquarian books. Quite a lot of the sources for both A Murderous Affair and A Traitor in Paris were discovered here!

If you’re a book lover passing through England’s leafy and green southern midlands then I really can’t recommend a stop here too highly.  To this day I find it impossible to pay a visit to my parents without paying a quick visit to the Old Hall (although be warned you can get lost in there for hours!). I’m really delighted that they’re stocking my books.

If you would like to order my books, or any others, here are the Old Hall Bookshop's contact details: [email protected]. You can also find them on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldhallbookshop/ and Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/OldHallBookshop

If you’re an independent or local bookshop reading this - or even would like to recommend one that you know and love please let me know!! #localbookshop #independentbookshop #supportalocalbookshop #IndieBookshopWeek
